Internet Catalogues.

When I began my first research, cataloguing all the Printed Maps of Devon, back in the early 1990s, it was a painstaking task to actually visit all the libraries necessary and compile one´s notes. In addition, one required a mountain of books and articles and these were hardly ever publicly accessible, unlike today. Nowadays, there are a growing number of sites becoming available to the “arm chair researcher”.

I have mentioned three sources above, and I do not apologise for mentioning them again. Ian Maxted has worked tirelessly to compile all manner of material regarding Devon´s past and all has been posted on the internet, mainly through his blog. His main addresses are:
